A morning at the Nordic Centre

Well the last pictures I posted of the kids on skis downtown on main street was short lived...it was cold out (-30) and and the kids were both sick (pneumonia), so Madison lasted about 1 1/2  minutes on her skis and Evan lasted about 30 seconds!  But today we tried, for the first time, to go to the nordic centre and actually go for a ski.  It was awesome.  Evan wasn't so sure about it...(next time I will take a sled for when he gets tired of skiing), but Madison got the hang of it....no melt downs, all smiles....we will definitely do it again!!  I love where we live!!!!!!

Winter

Its been a hard month in the Fox household...Grant, Madison and Evan all got pneumonia.  Somehow I managed to get away with just a cold...must be from 17 years of a built up immune system from working in a school.  Last week was the winter festival in Canmore (it's the week where they close down main street, bring in snow and make it a cross country ski track)...it was also gorgeous, sunny and -30 for most of the week!  After being stuck inside for 2 weeks because of illness we were all a little desperate to get outside...even if it was only for 20 min and a chance to try out some skis.

Grant managed to miss the week of -30 completely by going to to Palm springs for work and then to Sedona (Arizona) for a few days of mountain biking.  After seeing the pictures, I think this will be our next bike trip destination...that is, when we have someone to take the kids for a week...any takers?
