Happy Easter

Feels like spring is here...Happy Easter everyone!
Grant and I were just in Palm Springs...Grant there for a conference, while I played all day...working out, hiking up a few mountains and generally soaking up the warm weather...being responsibility free for 5 days (kids stayed at home with the nanny)!  It  was wonderful!

Today is easter.  The day started out with an easter egg hunt.  I was informed by Madison, last week, that the easter bunny hides eggs around the house for her to find...so I figured I had better do something.  ;)

We leave for Mexico in 2 weeks, and are pretty excited to be going on a family vacation.  Grant had a second surgery on his leg 2 weeks ago and is hoping he will be healed enough to do some surfing.  Fingers crossed.

Little racer

Well she comes by it naturally, her mum used to race bobsleighs.  Madison thought she would get an early start!

In other news, Grant goes for surgery again tomorrow.  His foot has been swollen, painful and we think infected, since he got his first surgery Nov 22.  Tomorrow he goes in for surgery and they take out the hardware (9 screws and a plate).  It means another cast...but hopefully it will finally start to heal.

We have a trip to Mexico planned in April which we are soooo looking forward to.  If you're not doing anything April 13th to 23rd and want to join us in Puerto Vallarta for a week, send me a note and I can give you our hotel details.

"No, don't touch"

Where has the month gone, I can't believe it's March already!  Evan is no longer walking...now he's running!  Unlike Madison who would gently look at things, or listen when you asked her to stay out of a cupboard or not touch something...Evan behaves in true boy fashion...looks at you and gets into it anyway!  He is starting to talk, and no surprise...his first words were "no"...his first sentence "no, don't touch"!!!!

Whew! We made it to 2013!

Where has the year gone?  Evan is already 1 and walking, and Madison is talking and singing up a storm.  The kids are actually starting to play together....which means we don't always have to be the entertainers!...and it's really neat to watch them play together.  Yesterday Evan walked over to Madison and gave her a hug!  Makes you melt a little to see that!
It's been a full year....hopefully we won't have another year like 2012 for a while.  We are hoping that 2013 is much calmer.
2012 in a nutshell....New baby (it was a good, but busy, start to the year),  3 surgeries between Grant and I (his body now has 2 new metal plates and lots of screws...I think he's trying to be bionic), 2 deaths (my grandfather and my father), a move and a new job!  Whew!

2013 promises to be much calmer....we've even booked a vacation with Torbin and Joanne Fox in April to Mexico.  As I write this it's -20 outside.  This sunny vacation can't come soon enough!

A few pictures of the last few months.  :)

Merry Christmas

We had a busy Christmas this year...it started with my sister Tara having a baby on Dec 22.  We are thrilled that Madison and Evan have a cousin who is close to their age.

We visited Santa Clause....they aren't smiling...but at least they're not crying!!!

Santa must have thought they were good because he brought them both gifts on Christmas morning

They enjoyed opening gifts...though I'm not sure who was more excited about the train set...the kids or Grant!

And we got to hang out with lots of Family (Evan and Uncle Rick)

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season.

Post surgery

A few cute pictures of Grant and the kids.  Poor Grant is having to sit around and ice a lot.  At least the kids are hanging out with him!
