Winter fun

Madison hasn't exactly embraced winter.  I keep trying to get her outside, but she's not a fan of being bundled in her snowsuit, or even getting snow on her boots for that matter.  Our outside excursions have been short lived....as usually she ends up wanting me to carry her, instead of walking....which, as the belly has gotten bigger over the winter, has gotten harder and harder.  Today she was super fussy in the house, and I was desperate for fresh air....and since baby #2 is coming in 4 days, I thought I had better get outside while I can.  So I took Madison tobogganing...pretty sure she didn't enjoy it as much as I did, but it was so nice be be outside playing in the snow.

Christmas

Christmas was a little more fun with Madison this year...she enjoyed unwrapping gifts and even liked playing with her presents. (unlike last year where she pretty much only liked the ribbon).  All the family that lives in Calgary came for Christmas dinner...it was a good day and a yummy dinner.  Now we have a week of rest before baby #2 arrives.  We didn't take many pictures, but here are some from the day.

Colouring with her new marker set...wearing her favorite helmet.

Her first bike....no pedals...it's a flinstone start and stop.

Unwrapping presents

Playing with the travel colouring set from Aunt Joanne and Uncle Torbin

Even Maya got a gift...A fox of course.

Gibberish

Madison has been talking so much lately...but purely in gibberish.  It's quite cute...she will stand in front of the dog and start chatting away, or be playing with a toy, a book or come up to us and say something completely incomprehensible.   We figure that one day it will just be real words...she will come up to us and instead of gibberish it will be "mummy, can I have a snack?"  Here's a little video of her chatting away with Grant.

Ahhh...Girls!

While most of our friends have only the upper half of their Christmas tree decorated because of little hands trying to pull ornaments, lights etc off the tree....we have a sweet little girl who loves the tree...looks at me and smiles when I say "isn't it pretty" and will kiss the ornaments on command instead of pulling them off the tree.  Something tells me next year when we have a one year old boy...we aren't going to get the same result! haha.

4 weeks left!!!!

Yes, 4 weeks left until baby #2.  Not sure how Madison will take it.  If I ask her where "mummy's baby is", she will pull up my shirt and pat my stomach.  We'll see how that will translate when baby is in my arms instead of my belly!
