Mexico 2, Grant 0

Unfortunately Grant's trip to Mexico was cut short.  It's a sad story really.  He was supposed to leave for Mexico last Saturday...as he was checking in on line, friday night, he realized his passport was expired! Crap!  Luckily he was able to get a passport by monday and tuesday he was on his way to Mexico.  His buddies had been there since saturday, so he had only missed 3 days.  He arrived in Cabo around 11:00am, drove 2 1/2 hours to La Ventana and was on the water kite surfing by 2:30. And then the crash came...went a little too high, rotated twice instead of once....came down hard on the water...resulting in a very dislocated ankle and a broken fibula. YIKES!  By 4:00 he was on his way to the hospital...2 hours on bumpy mexican roads with a dislocated ankle...not fun! His phone call to me started like this "Hi Shannon, I don't want you to freak out, but...."
In a mexician hospital in La Paz.  Had to put him under to get the ankle back into a proper position.

Luckily (there's always a silver lining right?), one of the guys he was kiting with, has a wife who is an orthopedic surgeon in Banff!  I was able to get Grant a flight home thursday and friday he went in for surgery.  It's going to be a LONG winter!!!!

On a safer note, Madison is also trying rotations, luckily with more success.

Evan on the other hand...keeps trying to dive off things...sometimes I catch him...sometimes I don't.  I'm thinking of getting him a helmet to wear when he's awake!
